Bookends
Some things you can’t make up:
Bush’s presidency began with the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil and ends with the worst economic collapse in three generations.
And in between we had America endorsing torture and indefinite imprisonment, Katrina, Abu Ghraib…
“I have often spoken to you about good and evil,” he added. “This has made some uncomfortable. But good and evil are present in this world, and between the two there can be no compromise.”
The problem is that the entire world is not comprised of good and evil. There are infinite shades of each in all of us. To deny it is to embrace a childish view of the world. For eight years, America has labored under this tyranny of the idiotic.
Thank God Almighty, we’re free at last (nearly).
