I’m not saying that it was wrong to arrest these idiots. I’m just wondering why it’s illegal to hoist an effigy of Barack Obama by a noose, but not Sarah Palin.

Okay – it isn’t much of a mystery:

Fischer and Bush were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, burglary and theft by unlawful taking, police said. The burglary and theft charges involve allegedly removing items from a room in the fraternity house.

Plus, it should be pointed out that the Palin effigy was part of a larger decoration scheme. The Obama effigy was just thrown in a tree for…sick humor, I guess.

Let this be a lesson – do not steal to build your effigy.
